It seems that Indian Television is revamping its style. After the Saas Bahu sagas, reality shows, social awareness and horror, it's time to go political now. A new show based on politics will soon be launched on DD National.

A source says, "The show on DD National will be based on the life of Sonia Gandhi. It will be more of her journey as a small child, how she grows up and enters politics. The only difference being that she won't be a foreigner here. On the contrary, she will be born and brought up in India. It's just that the story has been inspired from her life."

"Initially it will depict a love triangle between the protagonist and two other guys. But the events thereafter will bear an uncanny resemblance to Sonia's life, with the lead actor being compelled to enter politics after her husband's death.

The title has not been fixed as yet but the show is expected to hit the air within the next two months. Shooting for the show has already started in Gujarat." adds the source.

Elaborating on the cast of the show, the source says, "Shiju Kataria who essays the role of Smriti of 'Behenein' will be executing the role of the lead (Sonia Gandhi).

She will be accompanied by Raza Murad who is also a well known TV actor. The show will be depicted in a filmy style with a similarity to Sonia Gandhi's life but not a copy of it. It has a very powerful concept and will be aired on a prime time slot."

We tried calling Shiju but she remained unavailable for comment!
